My work is connected to representations of protection and openness in different forms such as a shield, window or fence. I use stone and colourful minerals as my medium for the shield brooches, transparent crystal for the window and have made a necklace in the shape of a fence. By using the shape of a shield, I am borrowing heraldic symbolism to talk about identity through the colours and patterns on a coat of arms.
